长寿石工号子是流传于长寿地区的民间音乐形式，石工在劳作时哼唱的小调，包括大锤号子、拗石号子、滑石号子、抬工号子等。其特点是即兴创作，简单、随意，不受时间、地点、人物等条件的限制。语言朴素、诙谐滑稽、韵律严谨，生活气息浓厚。常带或明或隐的双关语，使人极易接受。

翻叉号子是流传于长寿区内的传统音乐形式，起源很早，就是用叉子翻动谷草时哼唱的号子，是人们在生产中统一节奏的劳动号子。翻叉号子一般是一人领唱，众人和唱，曲调高亢、明亮，节奏极强。由于现代农业的发展，特别是机械收割的推广，翻叉号子逐渐消失，已经濒危。
